Everyone was up and packed in time for an early breakfast at 7:30am. The coach was loaded and the hotel cleaned ahead of our planned departure time. We then headed back to Calais to catch the shuttle. After an uneventful journey we arrived early at Gillingham for a lunch break and a chance to go ice skating. Belgium Concert Tour – Day 3
After breakfast, we had a lovely cruise along the canal seeing some of the old bridges and buildings of Brugge. Then we headed off to Ypres for our afternoon concert. This took place outside the old cloth hall (now the Flanders museum). To a fluctuating audience of around 50, the percussion ensemble, the choir and a few soloists performed in very windy conditions. This was a much more relaxed atmosphere and was thoroughly enjoyed by both performers and audience alike. At 8pm we joined the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate and then headed back to the hotel.

These have now all been donated to Offshoots to use with their volunteer and childminder groups. Their work was of a very high standard and they produced far more high quality end products than initially planned.
