Primary Maths Challenge

The first Burnley Primary Maths Challenge was held at Unity College on Friday 1st July. Eight Primary schools battled it out in rounds of problem solving, cross-number and logic. It was fantastic to see the students so enthused by Maths and eager to rise to the challenge. In third place was St Peters C of E, in second place was Briercliffe Primary School and in first place was Heasandford. Congratulations to all – you were amazing!

Year 7 bowling reward trip

65 year 7 students went to NFB Bowling on Friday 24th June. The students who went where invited due to their hard work and dedication within maths, they had taken part in additional activities above and beyond the classroom to improve their learning. Well done to all the year 7 and year 8 students who took part in the Happy Puzzle Company day on Friday 17th June. They had a thoroughly enjoyable time completing mathematical puzzles, working in teams and competing against each other.
