Exam Board : AQA : Design & Technology Specification

Students following this specification will place greater emphasis on understanding and using the design process.  To use their creativity and imagination to design and make prototypes that solve real and relevant problems.

The subject content is separated into 3 areas:

• Core technical principles
• Specialist technical principles
• Designing and making principles

It will be assessed by:

Exam:

• 50% of GCSE
• 2hours – written
• 100 marks

Non-exam assessment (coursework)

• 50% of GCSE
• 30-35 hours approx
• 100 marks

Grades will be 1-9.
