Athletics

Unity College Whitewash Unity College took all the accolades at the Burnley Schools year 7 and 8 athletics event. Unity dominated, with both teams; year 8s and year 7s winning both events. This means that both year 7 teams will progress to represent Burnley at the Lancashire School Games in Blackpool later in the term. Pupils came together to encourage each other through the field and track events and were a credit to the school both in terms of quality and attitude. The Unity College PE teachers were all extremely proud of all of their athletes.

Measles Outbreak

Message for parents/carers and guardians There are currently outbreaks of measles in several areas of the UK affecting unimmunised children and young adults, including 2 recent cases in Cumbria. There are also large outbreaks in several countries across Europe, including holiday destinations. Measles is highly infectious. It can cause serious illness and can sometimes be fatal. Vaccination with 2 doses of MMR is the safest way to protect children and young people.
