The year 7 rugby boys competed in their first tournament on Thursday 15th November at Burnley Rugby club. They played a round robin format against Clitheroe Grammar, All Saints, Blessed Trinity, Sir John Thursby and Shuttleworth.

The boys were unbeaten throughout the entire tournament, winning four and drawing one, with seven different try scorers. Every player put in an outstanding performance, with key attacking praise for Thomas Ashworth and Macaulay Houghton, scoring four and three tries respectively. Solid tackling from Gabriel Metcalf, Archie McIvor and Patrick Horan saw Unity concede only 4 tries throughout the day.

The college continues to build on their successful rugby programme along with the support and encouragement from Simon Finnan and Burnley RUFC. Many students already compete for the club and it is hoped that more will join in the near future.
