Unity College students took part in a project, Oracy October, initiated by Voice 21, our Oracy partners. The objective was to encourage students to communicate more within the lesson. We shared some of our students work with Voice 21 who recognised us as one of the best schools who took part in the project.

Lancashire cup update

Congratulations to the year 7 football team who progressed to the second round of the Lancashire cup. Unity were drawn in a group with Blessed Trinity and Shuttleworth. Unity defeated Blessed Trinity 3-0 and Shuttleworth 4-0. Unity now face St Augustine’s in the next round of the competition.

English schools cup result

Congratulations to the year 7 Football team who beat St Peters from Manchester after extra time in a tightly fought contest on Tuesday. Unity were cruising 2-0 at half time with goals from Morgan Shapland and Jack Brunt. Mr Boardman stressed the importance of a good start to the second half but two sloppy goals allowed St Peters back into the game. The away side nearly stole the victory as a free kick in the last couple of minutes grazed the cross bar.
