In the final rugby event of the season, Unity College’s Under 14 rugby team took part in a friendly sevens competition. The competition involved two Unity teams, two teams from Darwen Vale and a team apiece from St Augustine’s and Blessed Trinity.
Games were all played to an excellent standard, with a high quality of rugby and athleticism shown by all teams. Players from all sides demonstrated a fantastic understanding of the core values of rugby and competed in a friendly and sportsmanlike manner. Each game was evenly matched and showcased how far the year group have come since they began at Unity College.
All teams will now enjoy a well earned break over summer before a packed half term of fixtures beginning in September. We would like to thank all who have supported our growing rugby programme this year; the PE staff involved in training and fixtures, Simon Finnan and Burnley Rugby Club for their partnership and those at the RFU for their continued support.
