I have had the privilege and honour of working at Unity College and prior to that Towneley High school since August 1997, initially as Head of Lower School, then Deputy Headteacher before becoming Headteacher in September 2003. I have informed the governors and staff that I plan to retire in the Spring of 2022.
The Governing Body have decided to advertise for a new Headteacher sooner rather than later and the new Headteacher, once appointed will work alongside me until Spring 2022.
Due to the increased popularity of the college and the huge demand for places there is expansion of the college planned over the next year where a large new teaching block will be built which will house 17 new classrooms and a purpose built college library. The fantastic new facilities are expected to be ready for September 2021.
