On Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th of October, 15 Unity College students undertook a community project in collaboration with VIY and Offshoots in Towneley Park. Over the course of the two days students built 3 potting tables, 2 benches and 2 mud kitchens for use at the project. These have now all been donated to Offshoots to use with their volunteer and childminder groups. Their work was of a very high standard and they produced far more high quality end products than initially planned. Students gained valuable skills in joinery and work place health and safety with many of them now considering applying for apprenticeships when they leave Unity College. A superb time was had by all and staff were exceptionally proud of the students throughout the two days.
