Year 7 girls netball team, participated in the Burnley High Schools Tournament competing against Shuttleworth, Hameldon, Burnley High School, Sir John Thursby and Blessed Trinity. Both teams did exceptionally well, group 1, took first place, and group 2 took seconds place. A great start to the netball fixtures ladies. Unity College netball teams from year 7 & 8 took part in a large netball tournament held at Thomas Whitham Sixth Form. This was a successful afternoon where over 100 students from across Yorkshire, Pendle, Burnley and Blackburn participated in the event. U13’s girls Football team competed in the Premier League

Girls u12 Football team played Ormskirk School last Friday, winning 2-1. Megan Rodriguez secured 2 goals overall, one in the first half and another in the second half of the game. The girls U12 will now go through to the second round of the Lancashire Cup. The teams Goalkeeper, Isobel Halton obtained the player of the match. A fantastic result ladies! Last week the Year 10 Handball Team competed in the North West Handball finals. They were representing Lancashire at the Under 15 boys category. All the best teams from other NW counties were there and the standard of handball was extremely high. The boys won their group stage and then went all the way to the final were they lost by one goal. They were the only undefeated team in the whole competition until they lost in the final.  Well done team! Sam Walsh  and Jaden Haworth-Franklin represented their boxing club, Sandygate A.B.C at the Hvidovre International Box Cup, Denmark at the weekend.  The boxing club covered all costs and expenses so the boys could attend this prestigious competition and box on an International stage.  Both boys fought hard with Sam bringing back a Gold Medal!

32 Gymnasts from Unity College took part in the Burnley Gymnastics High School competition, on 10th February at the Best Training Centre. For the first time in Burnley High Schools history boys have also now had the opportunity to perform. Out of a possible 27 medals, Unity took a clean sweep and brought home 15 medals ranging from Gold, Silver and Bronze for individual, paired and vaulting performances. Results Individual floor medalists: Level 2 floor winner was Amy Smith, followed by Megan Irwin who took the Silver medal. Level 4 floor medallists; Jodie Hammet took Bronze, Harley Gill took Silver
